Where Do Hmong People Come From? - Part 1

When we started dreaming about The Story Cloth Blog, we found ourselves passionately curious about who we are.

Kaolee came up with the idea of us exploring Ancestry DNA to see what our results will be. We got the kits in and decided we'd invite you to come along and see what it entails.

The kits came in small gift-sized boxes - perfect for gift giving! Overall, the test kit was quite simple. It came with a step-by-step guide and prepaid shipping box to return your sample in. 

1. Activate your kit online. You must activate your kit or you can't get your results. You can activate it through their mobile app, or on their website. There's a 15-digit activation code on the collection tube that you use to register with. This unique code identifies your sample.

2. Gather your DNA in the collection tube. You are not supposed to eat, drink, smoke or chew gum for 30 minutes before giving your saliva sample. Once you collect enough saliva, you have to tighten the cap which has stabilizing fluid.

3. Place the tube in the collection bag and mail the sample.
